Johnstown Empire would very quickly grow to become a major empire, with the flow of information and commerce between the two empires being as robust and efficient as ever. To this end, to better represent their relationship, HRE and JE agree to the following: 1. Mutual defence: Should one party come under attack, the other party is obligated to come to their defence. 2. Optional aggression: Should either party wish to engage barbarians threatening the peace, the other party is encouraged to, but not required to, go to war with them. 3. Peace, intelligence and trade: Both parties shall trade in goods and information with neither party taking actions against the interests of the other. 4. Article 3: Peace, Intelligence and Trade Both parties agree to not take up arms against each other. They further agree to help each other in their aims by the means of sharing intel and offering favourable trade terms to each other. Article 4: Cancellation Should either party feel their interests diverge, they may cancel this treaty by giving 72 hours of notice to the other party. As the war against Chaos Coalition dragged on, the soldiers of the empire spotted some barbarians making away for the far mountains. Anxious to not let anyone go free, the empire sent out a contingent to intercept. On reaching the camp, though, the soldiers of the empire were in for a rude shock as they were beaten back with fierce resistance. Aaron JT, the leader of the band, stepped forward under a flag of truce to negotiate. The soldiers quickly realized that the band were a group of refugees who were fleeing chaos, not barbarians themselves. The soldiers of the empire were impressed by the ability of the tired refugees to resist them as well as managing to make the most out of the inhospitable mountain land and turn it into the beginnings of a magnificent empire. The refugees were also impressed by the stories they had heard of the grandeur of the empire. And thus, both parties decided to enter a mutually beneficial relationship. Article 1: Protection HRE shall defend JE from all external threats. JE is encouraged to but not required to defend HRE from any threats. Article 2: Peace, Intelligence and Trade HRE and JE shall refrain from taking any actions opposed to each other’s interests. Both parties shall collaborate by the means of economic agreements and intelligence sharing to benefit each other. Article 3: Cancellation If either party feels that this agreement is no longer in their best interest, they many cancel this by giving 72 hours of notice to the other party.
